Gerry Jue is a Founding Principal of BAMO. Gerry has over 28 years of experience in architecture and interior design, and his work has been featured in many publications, including Interior Design, Interiors, Hospitality Design and Town & Country.

A native San Franciscan, Gerry knew since high school that he wanted to be an architect and designer, manipulating space, form, color, light and objects in interesting and pleasing ways. Gerry launched his professional career in 1982 upon completion of his graduate studies in architecture. After working in various architectural firms, including Bull Field Volkmann and Stockwell, Gerry joined The Pfister Partnership. He became a Senior Associate of the firm and was the lead designer for a number of high-end commercial and hospitality commissions.

In 1991 Gerry co-founded BAMO with Pfister colleagues Pamela Babey, David Moulton and Michael Booth. His responsibilities as a Principal at BAMO include both design leadership and project management on a wide variety of projects. With luxury hospitality, residential and senior living projects spanning the globe, Gerry has worked with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, Capella Hotels and Resorts, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Concorde Hotels & Resorts, Exclusive Resorts, Mesa Development, Half Century More and others.

Gerry’s projects at BAMO include the Capella Bangkok Hotel and Residences; Four Seasons Hotel Milan; Four Seasons Resort Carmelo, Uruguay (awarded “Best Resort Hotel” by Interior Design in 2001); The Ritz-Carlton Club and Residences, Kapalua Bay; The Residences at The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto; Matsuri, a Japanese restaurant in Santiago, Chile; multi-unit residential developments in San Francisco, Silicon Valley and Baton Rouge; as well as single-family residences in the U.S., South America and Hong Kong. Gerry also has specialized experience in luxury senior living interiors, and has designed a number of award-winning private facilities in the Tokyo and Kansai areas of Japan.

Gerry earned his Bachelor of Architecture at the University of California at Berkeley and his Master of Architecture degree at the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University. He is a registered Architect in the State of California and a member of the American Institute of Architects. In 2010, Gerry and his fellow BAMO co-founders were inducted into Hospitality Design magazine’s Platinum Circle.

Gerry lives in San Francisco with his wife Frances and boys Ollie and Jamie.
