Deirdre Jordan grew up with parents who were deeply interested in the arts. A self-professed “art kid” she had early and consistent exposure to both visual and performing arts. Deirdre’s formal education and experience have centered on architecture and design. She received her BFA in Design from the University of Kansas and her MFA in Interior Architecture at the School of the Art Institute in Chicago. Today, she stays creatively connected to her Alma Mater, where she continues to teach furniture design.
Working in both architecture and industrial design firms, she developed her affinity for the modern aesthetic. Her portfolio includes: lighting fixtures for various corporate and hospitality clients, museum and trade exhibits, interior spaces and furniture.
As the Design Director of Holly Hunt, she acquired the business and marketing experience needed to round out her skills. This moved her one step closer to producing her own designs and eventually launching Troscan Design with her husband, Bob Robinson. Deirdre’s approach to design, as reflected in her work in Troscan and now with Boyd, is to transcend trends and create heirlooms for the next century. The strength in her success is the ability to highlight the luxury in simplicity with mindfulness for quiet details.
