Laura Kirar is founder and creative director of TRU design, a NY-based multi-disciplinary firm specializing in product development and commercial & residential interiors. Named as one of "America's Top Young Designers," by House Beautiful Magazine in September 2003, Ms. Kirar maintains a reputation for creating elegantly refined spaces and objects. Her product design emphasizes the appeal of classic proportions and unique modern forms, revealing her incisive understanding of the decorative arts.

After obtaining a degree in sculpture and interior architecture from the prestigious School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Ms. Kirar joined the design studio of Holly Hunt. In 1994, she joined the NY-based studio of the Polo Ralph Lauren Home Collection. Later she joined the renowned high-end residential interiors firm Jed Johnson & Associates, before opening her own design firm.

In addition to Boyd Lighting, Ms. Kirar designs products for Carnegie Fabrics, Dennis Miller Associates, and Kallista/Kohler, Inc.
